 Rules 
Know the No’s

No age requirement or limit
No entry fee
No professional bakers- a person who is paid to bake or sell pies
No more than one entry per person
No cream, meringue or custard pies permitted
No warm pies

All pies crusts are acceptable, but must be homemade by participant.  The recipe is required to be with your entry and may be used in a future cookbook.  Please bake pie in an 8" or 9" disposable pan.  Do not write your name on the pan; you will be assigned a participant number at registration. 

Judging Categories

Taste
Does the filling taste evenly cooked?  
Does the recipe accompany the entry?     
Does it have too much or little of a specific ingredient?

Does the crust taste doughy or salty?
Would you want another piece?    

Appearance
Is the crust or edges under/over cooked?
Does the crust look evenly cooked?
Does the filling look evenly cooked?
Is there any extra effort (decoration)?
Would you want another piece?

Consistency
How easy does it remove from pan?
Does it cut easily?
Does the filling stay inside the slice?
Is filling evenly cooked?
Would you want another piece?
